A world leading not-for-profit STM society is recruiting three Executive Editors with strong strategic acumen to lead editorial teams managing and developing journal portfolios.

Reporting to the Publisher, the Executive Journal Editor holds the following key responsibilities:
- Set, develop and implement the portfolio and individual journal strategies
- Deliver KPIs in terms of market share, quality, reputation and customer service
- Develop the best authorship and readership for the journals, through networking, personal contact, commissioning, attendance at conferences, site visits and roadshows
- Manage, lead and motivate a team of up to 5 direct reports, and a number of remunerated external Associate Editors
- Maintain a high level of external contact with the relevant research communities and use this market information to develop strategic priorities
- Manage budgets for external Associate Editors, travel, Editorial Board expenses, journal sponsorship
- Identify new journal opportunities and, in consultation with the Publisher, develop plans and proposals.
Suitable candidates will have considerable STM Journal publishing experience including commissioning, an excellent understanding of the peer review process, editorial policy and marketing. A science degree is required (Physical Science preferred). Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and relationship building skills is required as is an enthusiasm for Open Access and Open Science. The ability to lead and motivate a team is also required.
You will be rewarded with a salary ranging from £50,100 – 55,700 and strong benefits.
