Our client, one of the world’s Leading SaaS elearning platform providers for technical and business teams, is seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Design to manage a diverse, cross-functional team encompassing product design, marketing design, brand, video, and copy.

This role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer and will play a pivotal role in shaping the design strategy across a company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge products and services that make a real impact in the industry. As Vice President of Design, you will develop and execute a unified vision that ensures a cohesive brand presence across all products, translating high-level business goals into impactful, user-centric designs. You’ll lead with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and creating experiences that not only meet user needs but go beyond to deliver long-term value.

VP, Design: Key responsibilities

Strategic Design Leadership

  • Develop and execute a design strategy that aligns with the company’s vision for an AI-enhanced learning platform
  • Drive design innovation across all user touchpoints, from platform UI to marketing campaigns

AI Integration

  • Spearhead the integration of AI-driven design elements, such as personalised learning paths and AI-assisted interfaces, enhancing the overall user experience

User-Centric Experience Design

  • Ensure design solutions are intuitive, engaging, and effective in delivering optimal learning outcomes, advocating for the learner’s experience

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of product, UX, and brand designers
  • Foster a creative, collaborative, and continuously learning culture within the design team

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align design initiatives with business goals and technological capabilities in close partnership with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing
  • Bridge creative and technical teams to deliver cohesive, AI-enhanced solutions

Design System & Brand Stewardship

  • Oversee the evolution of the design system and visual identity to maintain a consistent and impactful brand presence across all channels

Metrics & Impact

  • Implement a data-driven approach to design, utilising user feedback, analytics, and A/B testing for continuous improvement
  • Present design impact and ROI to executive leadership

VP, Design: Skills/experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience building and delivering successful B2B or consumer products at scale
  • 10+ years of experience in design leadership roles, with a strong portfolio demonstrating success in product and brand design within tech or digital learning platforms
  • Deep expertise in UX/UI design, visual design, and design systems
  • Proficiency in leveraging data and AI tools to inform and enhance design choices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic execution mindset, capable of navigating ambiguity and driving transformation in a fast-evolving industry
  • Passionate about the future of learning and the role of technology in education
  • Ability to switch between the language of business and design, setting meaningful goals and objectives for your team while advocating for critical design choices to company leadership.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Experience in business strategy is a plus
  • Experience with AI-driven products is a significant advantage.
